In the middle of our romantic and hilly forestic countryside we have lots of beautiful hikingtrails:

Excursions to the castles Hohenstein and Veldenstein, the fairytale and amusement park in Plech, the well-known Teufelshoehle (devils cave) and the summer toboggan run near Pottenstein, and the barockian church made by Balthasar Neumann at Goessweinstein can bring change in your dayplan.

Many dolomit rocks in the whole area offering posibilities to climb, and there is also a treeclimbingpark at Betzenstein



For horselovers there are possibilities to ride and for swimmers there are several outdoor pools at the region.

Visitors of the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth or the fairs and exhibitions in Nuremberg can be there also very quickly in about 20 minutes.

At most winters we have snow because of the altitude and so we are predestinated for cross-country skiing, the track starts right behind our house, 1.5 kilometers away is also a lighted lift for downhill skiing.

Ice-skating or watching an ice-hockey match is possible in 14 kilometers.
